Life suddenly becomes very simple when people set as their main task not their numerous individual goals, but one major goal - helping one another, and living by the spirit that unites us all.

God Is Knocking
God is knocking on the door;
Let’s see whose face he’s wearing this time.
It’s a ragged and tattered old man
Saying, “Brother can you spare a dime?”
It’s the little old lady from next door
The one who lives all alone
She’s just looking for someone to talk to
Do you invite her into your home?
You see it’s your daughter’s friend
The one with a bad reputation
Can you welcome her inside
While hiding your frustration?
God is knocking on the door;
Let’s see whose face he’s wearing this time.
It’s the old timer you helped last week
He’s bringing you some homemade wine.
It’s the single mom from across the street
And she seems to be in a dither
Her mom needs to be taken to the hospital
And she’s without a baby sitter
With God every knock and every encounter
Can be taken as a, “trick or treat.”
The trick is on you when you don’t see him
The treat (when you see him) is truly sweet
