Experiencing God

Here's what Henri Nouwen learned about the value of experiencing God in the present moment, without worrying about the future or regretting the past:

"Who better than severely mentally handicapped people to teach us this liberating truth? They do not read newspapers, watch television or discuss the possibility of future disasters. They do not dwell on the future. Instead they say, 'Feed me, dress me, touch me, hold me...Kiss me, speak with me. It is good to be here together now.'"
