A New Year
It’s a new year,
Let’s celebrate, let’s cheer.
Don’t be anxious, do not fear,
Of all the doom and gloom that you hear.
Two thousand and eight although still near,
Can now only be seen from the rear.
Memories are all that you can wear,
Some of which you’ll cherish dear.
Don’t get in the way, please stay clear
Of the doors that are opened this New Year.
Opportunity knocks, don’t interfere
With what God has in store for you here.
His arrival will be heralded by a chanticleer,
Over the horizon He will appear,
Coming with a love so sincere
All you have to do is persevere.
