With all the trials and tribulations of the world today, I find solace in listening to Louis Armstrong’s song, “What a Wonderful World.”
Here are the lyrics;
I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.
I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.
The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin......i love you.
I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
Theyll learn much more.....than Ill never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world
And I also ask myself, how do we get there? How do we get to this wonderful world?
Well the answer my friends is not blowing in the wind like another song states but it’s as simple as the teachings of St. Paul to the Ephesians that goes back almost 2000 years. The formula has not changed and will not change.
When St. Paul spoke to the Ephesians he told them to remove all bitterness, fury, anger, shouting and malice and replace it with compassion, forgiveness and love of fellow man. He told them to live in love as beloved children, and to imitate Christ.
If we can all strive to follow St. Paul’s teachings then we will see all wars and suffering from such come to an end. We will truly have a wonderful world for all.
