Blindness of Heart

In reading a little snippet about Saul’s conversion to Paul, on this the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul, I’m reminded that blindness doesn’t necessarily have to emanate from ones eyes; it’s the blindness of our heart that is a greater impediment to sight.

“In your flesh I have wanted to manifest the blindness of your heart that you might see what you did not see and might not be like those who ‘have eyes and see not and ears and hear not.’ (Psalm 115: 5-6)” Saint Fulgentius of Ruspe

“The greatest treasures are those invisible to the eye but found in the heart.” Anonymous

‘There are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart….pursue those.” Michael Nolan

“Love isn’t finding a perfect person. It’s seeing an imperfect person perfectly.” Sam Keen

“Perhaps our eyes need to be washed by our tears once in a while, so that we can see Life with a clearer view.” Alex Tan

“Each one sees what he carries in his heart.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
