Love More To Suffer Less

The following is a literal translation of a posting found in an Italian web site, www.paroledisperanza.it (words of hope). What do you think? Does it have merit?

...How can we understand rest without knowing tiredness, joy without tears, light without darkness, forgiveness without hate, truth with falsity.

God touches us in the flesh to make us aware of the needs of the world.
Your flesh becomes for God his talking book, the alphabet of his way of expressing oneself.
He punishes you to make you become like Him, capable to love.
He takes away your health to make you become small and humble, he gives you darkness to make you invoke light, he leaves you alone because you seek him, he touches your flesh in order to make you feel the flesh of the world.
And he is not afraid of seeing you cry, because he knows the value of tears.
And even if you have the impression that it is by chance that he makes you suffer and not by his specific wish, he will let you keep crying.
He will wait until you start to understand.
To understand the connection between love and pain, death and resurrection, is truly difficult, almost impossible for man, without the Spirit.

You always have the impression that it shouldn’t be this way, that it’s impossible for it to be this way.
You think that it’s by accident that you became sick, or it was because of lack of light that made you fall down the stairs.

Yet, it’s not like that.
If God is God, not one drop of blood is without significance, not one cell out of place, not one tear shed without making the eye clearer.

................................

….But now I would like to teach you one little trick, made especially for one who is afraid of suffering, or better still for one who seeks to suffer less.
The trick is this: LOVE MORE TO SUFFER LESS.
